Pretend to be Nice

Teacher-Moms, on the edge…

Have wine with your friends, play cards, and drive around in the great outdoors. aka: Golfer’s Day

This is in honor of my mother and her friends.

Usually a person’s free time is dictated by their work or children.  My mom’s free time is when she’s not golfing (which equates to less time then I have with 3 children, a husband that works 6 days/wk 14 hour days, I teach, tutor, and cart my children to sports).  She’s busy from 10am-3pm Tuesday-Sunday and Friday evenings are a bust because she stays at the club even later playing cards and gambling my children’s inheritance away.  Saturday’s are usually set aside for tournaments or girl’s weekends away at some other golf club in another town or better yet, another state and Sundays are social (at the club, of course).

She doesn’t care if you call while she’s at the gym or eating out or even during her favorite TV show, but there will be no conversating during golf time (but this is when I get to talk to her friends, “Here, talk to Mick, I need to take my shot” never to be heard from again.

I think she’s the coolest thing since graph paper because she has won her golf club championship 7 times! (And because she puts up with me!)

So here’s to you mom!  I love you!  (And I called the club pro and credited another bottle of wine to your account!  Have one for me!)

 I made this for her.

Besides, inheritance is what is left after she’s gone. While she’s still breathing it’s hers to do with what she will. I say live it up mom – gamble that inheritance away until there is no more! You only live once! 🙂

(Psst: I tell my daughter not to expect an inheritance.)

The inheritance money is in the form of dimes and quarters and fits in a change purse…but I’m an only child so I’m expecting to inherit ALL of nothing 😉

I’m spending my children’s inheritance putting money for wine into my mom’s golf account 😀 I agree! LIVE IT UP! (My girls love going to the club to play cards with their Nina – they get spoiled rotten and win all the other grandmother’s money. Start ’em young 😉 – now they’re spending their children’s inheritance on gum and nail polish. It’s a vicious cycle, but someone’s gotta do it!)
